Background and Training:

Marisa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a Minor in Visual Art Therapy, as well as a Minor in Expressive Art Therapy, and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in holistic approaches. Marissa graduated from Lesley University, with experience providing services in residential programs, partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, community-based health services, and outpatient care. She has provided therapeutic intervention to a broad spectrum of ages with a current focus on clients 18 years and older. Marisa is licensed in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

Marisa can provide clinical consultation for licensed mental health counselors for a rate of $100 an hour.

    Marisa understands that starting a therapeutic relationship can feel vulnerable and overwhelming. With empathy, she offers a strength-based, person-centered approach that values the mind-body connection. She works to treat the person beyond the present symptoms and respectfully paces intervention based on the client’s needs and requests.
    Through talk therapy, Marisa connects with humanistic theory, offering a safe, nonjudgmental environment. She can incorporate expressive art techniques in sessions. She supports client progress with a gentle, encouraging, and compassionate stance to maximize coping ability and maintain optimal mental health functioning.

    Background and Training: 

    Chris is a part-time clinician with The Therapy People and is the Director of Mental Health Counseling at New England College. Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a Minor in Addictions from Keene State College, and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from William James College.

    Chris is licensed in New Hampshire and Massachusetts and is a Board-certified Supervisor in New Hampshire. His extensive experience in the mental health field has been influenced by his work as an in-home therapist in the greater Boston area, Clinical Director of a Juvenile Treatment Facility, college health clinic worker, and Adjunct Professor.

    Chris can provide outsourced supervision to master and doctoral candidates and pre-licensed mental health counselors as well as clinical consultation for licensed counselors with a rate of $100 an hour.

      Chris’ clinical approach is to build a therapeutic alliance with his clients through meeting them where they are at, as approaching therapy can be an intimidating endeavor. He creates a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can process their presenting problems at a comfortable pace through a person-centered, strength-based lens. A session with Chris will be tailored individually to the client’s needs and feel more like a free-flowing conversation than a doctor’s visit.
